【摘要】:Thistestmethodevaluatesthepercentviscositylossforpolymer-containingfluidsresultingfrompolymerdegradationinthehighshearnozzledevice.Minimuminterferencefromthermaloroxidativeeffectsareanticipated.Thistestmethodisnotintendedtopredictviscositylossinfieldservicefordifferentpolymerclassesorfordifferentfieldequipment.Somecorrelationforaspecificpolymertypeinspecificfieldequipmentcanbepossible.1.1Thistestmethodmeasuresthepercentviscositylossat100Cofpolymer-containingfluidsusingfuelinjectorshearstabilitytest(FISST)equipment.Theviscositylossreflectspolymerdegradationduetoshearatthenozzle.Note18212;TestMethodD2603hasbeenusedforsimilarevaluationofthisproperty.Ithasmanyofthesamelimitationsasindicatedinthesignificancestatement.Nodetailedattempthasbeenundertakentocorrelatetheresultsbythesonicandthedieselinjectormethods.EquipmentandreplacementpartsarenolongeravailableforTestMethodD2603asitiscurrentlywritten.Thetestmethodiscurrentlyunderrevision.Note28212;ThistestmethodwasoriginallypublishedasProcedureBofTestMethodsD3945.TheFISSTmethodwasmadeaseparatetestmethodaftertestsofaseriesofpolymer-containingfluidsshowedthatProceduresAandBofTestMethodsD3945oftengivedifferentresults.1.2ThevaluesgiveninSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Theinch-poundunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificprecautionarystatementsaregiveninSection7.
